The PTA team has set up a number of committees so that you can sign up to work on a specific area that you may feel the most passionate about. We have seven different committees and you are welcome to sign up for one or many!
Hospitality – This committee is responsible for helping with any party activities that we might have among other things. Some examples of this are: Teacher Appreciation Week, 5th Grade Picnic, Retirement gifts, etc.
Box Tops – This committee is in charge of running contests and collecting Box Top coupons. Once the Box Tops are collected, they needed to be trimmed and counted before be mailed in to receive credit. The chair for this committee is Christine Smith.
Enrichment – Enrichment events include cultural arts programs for the entire school and ones that are more grade-specific. This team would be responsible for working as a liaison between the program vendors and the school to schedule and organize these events. Some examples of these events are: The Magical Math Tour, and Reptiles Alive! The 2011 - 2012 chair for this committee is Laura Rutledge.
School Store – The goal of the School Store is to provide school supply items to students throughout the school year. Our desire is to open the school Monday through Friday from 8:30AM – 9:00AM as well as for special events. The school store provides supplies that vary from pencils and erasers to recorders and headphones. The 2011 - 2012 chair for this committee is Peggie Suomela.
School Beautification – This team is responsible for assisting with the overall beautification of the school grounds. We often host two beautification events throughout the year: Fall Clean Up and Spring Clean Up. During this time, the team helps with weeding, mulching, planting flowers, etc.
Family Involvement – This team helps with the individual family involvement events that are scheduled throughout the year. Some examples of these events are: Family Picnic, Dance-A-Thon, Bingo Night, Luis Garay World Percussion, etc.
Tell Me What You Need Me To Do – This team basically means that you are willing to help out where ever you are needed. We will use you a base for volunteers for events as they arise. This team is crucial to the success of any and all of our plans throughout the year.
